Down the Line Rooftop

3621 Sheffield
773.975.5677

Down the Line Rooftop is one of the newer rooftops in Wrigleyville, having opened as recently as 2010. Many loyal customers know it as simply DTL or DTL Rooftop. It's literally located down the first base line in right field, 448 feet from home plate, at the foul pole. The location is really fantastic, with a great view of the field, and we especially love this venue for a rooftop view of Wrigley Field concerts too! When you book a private party at Down the Line Rooftop, you'll enjoy all-inclusive pricing that entitles you to the use of incredibly cozy indoor and outdoor areas, rooftop bleacher seating, and two different levels with multiple bars. They have 16 HDTVs on the premises, all between 42 and 52 inches in size! The air conditioned clubhouse will give you a welcome respite from the heat or the rain, and corporate customers will especially enjoy the meeting area! Of course your food and drinks are included as well. Down the Line Rooftop really does have it all.

Of all the websites of the Wrigleyville rooftops, we think that Down the Line has possibly the best one of all, because booking your tickets is so easy right there from the website. You can view a calendar of their events, and if a date happens to be completely sold out, you see that in big bold red letters right there in the square. No confusion, just clear info, and easy ticket purchasing. Some other companies require you to get a live person on the phone to buy your tickets, so we especially appreciate the convenience of this online style of booking. Down the Line definitely gets it right in this area! You simply select a game, choose the number of tickets that you need, enter your payment information, and make sure that you receive your confirmation email. It really is that easy.

Down the Line also offers special discounts for its mailing list subscribers for certain events throughout the year, so we strongly recommend signing up for that on their website, or following them on Twitter or Facebook so you can take advantage of all those deals. It's also a convenient way to keep in touch with the staff and to ask any questions that you may have about Down the Line! They're definitely a little more well-connected on the popular social networks than most of the other rooftop crews, and we think that's great. Any extra opportunities for great customer service always make a big difference, and they are available to you by phone, Facebook, Twitter, email, and via their website. Totally accessible at all times.

Let's go ahead and talk about the delicious food that they offer on the premises. Their all-inclusive menu means that you can enjoy all you can eat food and drinks, and that menu includes half pound grilled hamburgers and cheeseburgers, veggie burgers, Vienna bratwursts, Vienna Chicago style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, grilled or bbq chicken sandwiches, chips, salads, and desserts. Note that they offer upgraded selections for an additional charge, so ask them about that for your special events! Your beverage choices include Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller Lite, Amstel, Heineken, Corona, Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, Chardonnay, Pino Grigio, Metlot, Pinot Noir, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Squirt, lemonade, iced tea, and bottled water. Note that catering begins when the doors open an hour prior to the game and continues for three hours or nine innings, whichever comes first.

Most of our readers are looking for information about personal private events, but if you happen to be a corporate customer, you'll really enjoy all the perks that they have for you. They've got an excellent business center and meeting space that includes free wireless internet, the ability to accept deliveries prior to the event, all inclusive food and beverages, customizable souvenirs, plenty of meeting space, and all the planning support that you need from their knowledgeable staff. You'll have all the room you need for your displays and presentations, and to make business pitches or have conversation with your colleagues or clients!

You'll want to note that Down the Line does not offer parking, and as you probably already know, it can be difficult to find parking in the Wrigleyville area. We recommend taking advantage of the CTA Red Line that stops at Addison, just steps away from the building. Also note that you won't receive tickets in the mail, rather you'll have to submit a guest list at least a week prior to the game and they will admit your guests based on that. Make sure that all guests bring a valid photo ID in order to get in! There are no ATMs on the premises, so make sure that everyone brings some cash for gratuities.

If you decide to watch the game from the Down the Line Rooftop, we also recommend that you take advantage of Party Bus Chicago's group travel services. You can travel with anywhere from 16 to 30 of your friends or colleagues in one vehicle, or hire a fleet of vehicles to take even more than that! You won't have to concern yourself with designated drivers, traffic, parking, or even directions. Their company will take care of it all, and thanks to their professional chauffeurs, you will feel completely safe and secure on the road. You can reach Party Bus Chicago at 312.725.2871 or read our complete review of them here.
